The Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) and Vacuum Furnace Tracker Systems from Fluke Process Instruments feature the Datapaq TP6 data logger, a reflective or sealed for CAB thermal barrier, thermocouples and our intuitive Insight™ Software to create a complete solution.

The CAB Furnace Tracker Systems featuring the TB4000 & TB4002 thermal barriers operate in environments up to 800°C (1472°F) and are designed for frequent use in the aggressive atmosphere present in this process.

The Vacuum Brazing Furnace Tracker Systems, which include the VB1150 & VB1151 thermal barriers, make use of reflective plate technology to eliminate the need for insulation and ensure that out-gassing from the system is minimized so production is not disrupted when profiling.

Both systems can be used to conduct temperature uniformity surveys (TUS) in compliance with CQI 29.

Data Logger

The Datapaq TP6 is the perfect solution for the most demanding high-temperature profiling applications with a 316-grade machined stainless-steel case and IP67 rating. Once combined with the Datapaq Insight™ Software, you can display information from the data logger in real time via the optional Radio Frequency (RF) system or via standard USB/Bluetooth connections.

Thermal Barriers

Our thermal barriers designed for CAB furnaces feature sealed microporous insulation to prevent acid and moisture attacks during the process, helping to prolong the life of your system. The barrier’s body is built with high-grade stainless steel and the innovative design allows for quick, easy and safe retrieval of your data logger.

The optional thermocouple jig keeps the thermocouples in the same location for consistency and repeatability of measurement and can be used to build up a picture of furnace stability. The thermocouple jig holds thermocouples in position when conducting TUS using the planer method in compliance with CQI 29.

This design eliminates the need for insulation and ensures minimal out-gassing from the system. This two-stage protection can be used in most vacuum brazing processes, even those with extended forced air cooling.

Software

Every Furnace Insight™ software product is designed to convert your raw data into meaningful information that can be acted on. All three software options provide a clear user interface, context sensitive help screens and wizards to assist novice users. The ability to change the language and email results directly from software enables you to share information across the plant and across the world, whether you’re on a computer or mobile device.

The Vacuum and the Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) systems can be combined with our Furnace Insight Survey software to create an easy to use system for performing temperature uniformity surveys and automated TUS report generation in compliance with AMS2750 and CQI 29.

Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB)

The TB4000 is designed specifically to withstand frequent use within a CAB furnace’s hostile atmosphere, which is typically used in heat exchanger brazing processes. Our optional Survey Jig transforms the thermal barrier into a complete Survey System, which can be used to frequently check the furnace and detect performance changes, such as those caused by flux residue build up in the furnace tunnel. These processes typically use up to 10 thermocouples.

Vacuum Brazing

The brazing of aluminum heat exchangers has such a small process window that frequent profiling is very valuable for process optimization. This semi-batch process can be measured with minimal production disruption, as out-gassing from the reflective plate VB11 Thermal Barriers is minimal. To measure temperature uniformity, the VB11 Thermal Barrier supports data loggers with up to 20 thermocouple inputs.

Radio telemetry accessory

The Datapaq TP6 radio telemetry system utilizes high temperature radio-frequency technology to allow data transmission from the data logger in real time. As the system travels through the process, product and process temperature data can be viewed, analyzed and reported instantaneously. This technology can be applied to monitoring key thermal processes in most industrial heating applications.

With stainless steel framework, this accessory rigidly holds 3 pairs of thermocouples equally spaced across the arm at fixed heights. It also has “airflow” thermocouple protection covers and a special design holder to minimize the heat transferred to the thermocouple sheath.
